Dear Sirs, I received my new credit card last month on expiry of my old card. I have not yet generated a PIN for this card. In the meantime, I received an email dated 18th June 2019 from you extolling the virtues of the new card. One point in particular, attracted my attention. This was under the so called “additional savings.” It simply said that “Annual fee of 1000* is waived on purchases of 30,000 or more in a membership year”. I would like to mention here that I have been associated with Citibank Cards from the nineties, initially as a Diner’s Club cardholder and later as a Citibank Rewards Cardholder. The rewards card was issued to me because of an impeccable payment record with practically 100% on time payment. The card was completely free and has been so until today when you have informed me of an annual fee of Rs. 1,000 which will be charged unless I spend a minimum amount of Rs 30,000 per year. I suppose you are within your rights to impose this charge. However, my feeling is that, with this annual fee and minimum spending restriction, it is no longer a “rewards” card for me. I hope you can waive this annual fee in my case. In any case, I think I will be achieving the minimum limit but I don't like to be bound by this condition. With regards, Utpal
